A local bobcat visits my camera trap on the edge of civilization high up in the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking the Bay. As I explore the remote canyons and ridges in the rugged landscape, I notice many similarities between my camera traps and the robotic rovers exploring the surface of Mars.
